“Oh, you’re not fat!” 

Mostly from my mom, but other people do it to.

Because I do make comments like “LOL I gained a few pounds. I’m getting fat.” or “Shit, these shorts don’t fit anymore cause I’m fat.” or “LOL look how much fat I can pinch on my side!”

And I don’t mean it like “Oh no! I’m fat! How terrible! I must diet!” I mean it along the same lines as “My hair is red.” or “I’m 16.” I’m just stating a fact. There is fat on my body. Lots of it. 

It pisses me off when people jump to my ‘defense,’ as though I just referred to myself as some horrible insult and I need to be assured that it’s untrue. There’s nothing wrong with being fat. People’s first response shouldn’t be “You are not! You’re pretty! You shouldn’t talk about yourself that way!”
